בורא עד אנה |
Evening. This poem originated in Spain and is still said in most Sephardic communities. The nation of Israel is compared to a dove; constantly being pursued, but always aspiring for peace and redemption. Israel is complaining that it doesn't want to be chased all of the time and wants more power in this world. Syrians apply the same melody as Lekha Eli (Yom Kippur) to this piece. |
